Acrylics

• Acrycote® AP-6091 (APEC, Ltd) is a cationic acrylic emulsion with anticorrosion properties 

• Acrycote® AC-300 (APEC Ltd) is a cationic acrylic emulsion with an excellent cement mixability and water resistance. 

• Alberdingk CUD 4835 VP (Alberdingk) is a solvent free, aliphatic, cationic Polycarbonat-polyurethane dispersion.

• Crilat 4896 (Vinavil) is a pure acrylic aqueous dispersion, characterized by a cationic emulsifying system andvery small particles size. CRILAT 4896 is a dispersion consisting of very fine particles which confers a high penetration power in different supports even with low porosity: cementitious surface, plasters, concrete slab, screeds, renders, brick, sandstone and tuff. CRILAT 4896 is used for consolidating and improving the characteristics of weak, crumbly or powdery surfaces. The cationic stabilizing system is a barrier against nicotine and fumes migration. CRILAT 4896 is used as a primer of anti-nicotine and stain blocking paints.

• Ecronova™ RA 160 Plus (Michelman) high quality acrylic polymer dispersions are designed for a wide array of specialty architectural and industrial coating applications, including interior and exterior building paints, durable wood coatings, concrete protection, and many other applications. Provides excellent stain blocking and barrier properties in paint formulations.

• Ecronova™ RA 180 Plus (Michelman) high quality acrylic polymer dispersions are designed for a wide array of specialty architectural and industrial coating applications, including interior and exterior building paints, durable wood coatings, concrete protection, and many other applications. Provides adhesion, water resistance, alkali resistance and stain resistance in tannin and nicotine barrier primers, coatings and paints.

• Ecrylic RA 155 Plus (Michelman) is an aqueous dispersion of cationic acrylic acid ester/methacrylic acid copolymer. Acts as a binder for primers and deck coatings. Is APEO-free. Offers good blocking properties to nicotine, carbon black, pens, edding and water stains.

• Mowinyl 7820 (Nippon Gohsei) is a cationic acrylic resin. Miscibility with various agents, soap-free type, solvent-resistant, cationic. Paint for interiors, environment-responsive type.

• MyCroFence AM 215 (Croda) is a cationic acrylic resin grade. It exhibits antimicrobial properties. Available in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. MyCroFence AM 215 by Croda is suitable for decorative coatings and paints.

• NeoCryl XK-30 (DSM)  is an acrylic emulsion designed for isolating primers (stain locking). Good stain locking primer for nicotine, markers and stains. Good stain locking on tropical woods. Water resoluble wood ingredients will be locked. No specific active pigments necessary like zinc oxide etc. for stain locking performance. Can be blended with WB alkyds to improve adhesion on wood

• NeoCryl® XK-350 (DSM) is an acrylic copolymer emulsion designed for primers against knot bleeding. Good knots bleeding resistance Good stain locking on tropical wood Suitable for indoor and outdoor.

• Ottopol K-12 (Gellner Industrial, LLC). Used as a wood primer Ottopol K-12 forms a resistant barrier to water soluble tannins and prevents topcoats from staining and retarded drying. Our research chemists have discovered a polymer backbone that is resistant to tannin and nicotine stains. It forms an impenetrable barrier that out performs all other attempts of solving the bleeding of stains. A compliant, 21 grams/liter VOC primer can be formulated with Ottopol K-12.

• Ottopol K-21-30 (Gellner Industrial, LLC) are Low molecular weight cationic acrylic resin solutions. It is suitable for use as a grinding vehicle for organic and inorganic pigments. Pigment concentrates can be let down with these resins to produce printing inks and coatings. A clear coating or overlay varnish may be formulated as well. Ottopol K-21-30 is a resin solution in water. The dry resin of these cationic resins are identical, including their specific characteristics.

• Ottopol K-23 (Gellner Industrial, LLC)  is an alkali resistant cationic acrylic copolymer emulsion. It is designed for use as a grinding and letdown vehicle for waterbased flexographic and rotogravure inks. It is also suitable for use as an overprint varnish. The emulsion characteristics provide higher solids and better gloss.

• Ottopol K-65 (Gellner Industrial, LLC) is a hard cationic acrylic emulsion. Non ionic pigment concentrates can be let down with K-65 to produce printing inks and coatings. A clear coating or overlay varnish may be formulated as well. The addition of a coalescent solvent such as Texanol will aid in film formation. When Ottopol K-65 is formulated with K-633 it has improved flow, leveling and open time over Ottopol K-362.

• Ottopol K-66 (Gellner Industrial, LLC) is a hard cationic acrylic emulsion. Non ionic pigment concentrates can be let down with K-66 to produce printing inks and coatings. A clear coating or overlay varnish may be formulated as well. The addition of a coalescent solvent such as Texanol will aid in film formation. When Ottopol K-66 is formulated with K-633 it has improved flow, leveling and open time over Ottopol K-362.

• Ottopol K-362 (Gellner Industrial, LLC) is a Low molecular weight cationic acrylic resin solutions. It is suitable for use as a grinding vehicle for organic and inorganic pigments. Pigment concentrates can be let down with these resins to produce printing inks and coatings. A clear coating or overlay varnish may be formulated as well. Ottopol K-362 is a resin solution in water.

• Ottopol K-633 (Gellner Industrial, LLC) is a low molecular weight cationic acrylic resin solution. It is suitable for use as a grinding vehicle for organic and inorganic pigments. Pigment concentrates can be let down with these resins to produce printing inks and coatings. A clear coating or overlay varnish may be formulated as well .Ottopol K-633 has improved flow, leveling and open time over Ottopol K-362

• Ottopol KX-99 (Gellner Industrial, LLC) is a Hydroxyl Functional Cationic Acrylic Solution Polymer. This polymer will crosslink at room temperature with polyisocyanates and epoxy silanes. The fastest and most resistant coating can be formulated with the combination of a polyisocyanate and an epoxy silane. We recommend a maximum of 20% epoxy silane and 20% polyisocyanated based on solids. The ambient curing happens very quickly, in less than one hour the film will have water resistance. Allowing the film to cure for two hours will result in a film that has over 100 double rubs acetone resistance. Detergents and cleaners will not remove this film. Water resistance is excellent. The dried film will also resist staining.

• Ottopol KX-101 (Gellner Industrial, LLC) is a Hydroxyl Functional Cationic Acrylic Emulsion Polymer. This polymer will crosslink at room temperature with polyisocyanates and epoxy silanes. The fastest and most resistant coating can be formulated with the combination of a polyisocyanate and an epoxy silane. We recommend a maximum of 11.5% epoxy silane and 11.5% polyisocyanate based on solids. The ambient curing happens very quickly, in 15 minutes the film will have water resistance. Allowing the film to cure for four hours will result in a film that has over 100 double rubs acetone resistance. Detergents and cleaners will not remove this film. Water resistance is excellent. The dried film will also resists staining.

• Prox® AM 219 RG (Synthron) is a special cationic polymer that can be used as a functional binder in high- quality insulating primers to block migration of tannins and other extractives on wood and cork. It can also be used for difficult stains on walls and ceilings, thus preventing the discoloration of white topcoats. This product can also be used to provide excellent adhesion to many substrates. 

• Prox® AM 270 R (Synthron) is a special cationic polymer that can be used as functional binder in high-quality insulating primers to block migration of tannins and other extractives on wood and cork. It can also be used on difficult stains on walls and ceilings, thus preventing the discoloration of white topcoats. This product can also be used to provide excellent adhesion to a many substrates. 

• Prox® SBP 604 (Synthron) is a core-shell based cationic acrylic emulsion specially developed for stain blocker primers. PROX® SBP 604 should be used as main resin in order to prepare stain blocker primer paints. Because of its specific cationic chemistry and core-shell design, stain blocker preparations based on PROX® SBP 604 have excellent blocking properties to cover stains such as waterborne inks and markers, coffee, nicotine or oil. 

• RayCat 5428 (Specialty Polymers, Inc) is a cationic soft acrylic emulsion polymer with excellent flexibility and elongation. It is specifically designed to provide binding properties and inhibit cracking that is inherent in most substrates. Cationic primers and topcoats formulated with RayCat 5428 exhibit excellent stain blocking, water resistance and outstanding adhesion to various substrates.

• Syntran® 6301 (Interpolymer) is a water-based, cationic acrylic copolymer dispersion. SYNTRAN 6301 is recommended for stain blocking paints and primers. It has excellent performance in blocking nicotine and water stains. It is also suitable for stain blocking primers for wood and cork.

• Syntran® 6302 (Interpolymer) is a water based, cationic acrylic copolymer for coatings to be applied to furniture, wood trim and wood floors. Syntran 6302 represents the next generation of wood care polymers. It is easy to use, has superior application benefits and is a "greener" solvent free wood sealer formulation. Syntran 6302 will prevent tannin discoloration of the wood and preserve the original color to highlight the natural beauty of the wood surface. Syntran 6302 will prevent stains from nicotine and other common problem soiling materials. It also provides for easy, consistent sanding of the wood surface before additional topcoats are applied.

• Voncoat SFC-55 (DIC) is a cationic acrylic, with rapid hardening, bonding property

• WorléeCryl® 7712 H (Worlée) is a cationic pure acrylic solution.Excellent suitable as binding agent for fillers respectively as colourless or pigmented sealing primer on wood with a high content of soluble wood ingredients.

• Vinyblan 2687 (Nissin Chemical Industry, Co, Ltd; ShinEtsu Group) is a cationic acrylic emulsion, soap-free, that do not contain emulsifiers. It is ideal for usage in various coatings because it forms a strong membrane that is resistant to water and solvents.

• WorléeCryl® 7712 W (Worlée) is a cationic pure acrylic solution. It has excellent sealing properties against bleeding. W´Cryl 7712 W can be used as filling agent e.g. as clear or pigmented sealing primer on wood with a high content of bleeding substance. This product seals the bleeding of substances and protects the top coat against discolouration, blistering and adhesion loss. 

• WorléeCryl® 8721 (Worlée) is a cationic acrylic resin solution supplied 30% in water. It is suitable for use as a grinding vehicle for organic and inorganic pigments. Pigment concentrates can be letdown with this solution to produce printing inks and coatings. A clear coating of overlay varnish may be formulated as well. Inks and overlays for soap boxes and household paper towels will not be effected by the high pH value of the content or detergent cleaner used with the towels. Their positive charge allows inks and coatings to have exceptionally good adhesion to plastic foils (e.g. Polystyrene) and aluminium foils.

Acrylic / Vinyl

• DKV.4171 (Vanora) is a is a cationic dispersion based on Acrylate / VeoVa™, APEO-free. It is a resin for the production of low-odour and solventless coatings. This cationic binder is used in pigmented or transparent wood and insulating primers for indoor and outdoor applications.If you are using usual waterborne coatings, wood stains dissolve from the substrate and lead to a color change. With our DKV.4171 we have the solution! The cationic nature of this resin helps to lock stains in the primer preventing migration to the surface. The waterborne DKV.4171 locks stains, dries fast and is eco-friendly. In addition, this resin offers a good adhesion to wood, old coats and mineral substrates.

• RayCat 82 (Specialty Polymers, Inc) is a cationic vinyl acrylic emulsion polymer designed for specialty paper and paperboard coatings. Coated paper is suitable for ink jet printing.

Acrylic - amphoteric

• Hydro Pliolite® 050 is based on a proprietary ABS technology (Amphoteric Binding System, polymer that contains both anionic and cationic groups). It is a core-shell acrylic copolymer incorporating adhesion promoting monomers. Hydro PLIOLITE® 050 is ideally suited for stain blocking primers and paints, multi purpose low VOC primers.

Acrylic - styrene

• MyCroFence AM 216 (Croda) is a cationic styrene-acrylic resin. Available in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. Used as a co-binder with MyCroFence AM 215 to gain more hydrophobicity and hardness. MyCroFence AM 216 by Croda is suitable for decorative coatings & paints.

• Picassian AC-146 (Sthal) is a tannin blocker styrene - acrylic binder. For use in primers and sanding sealers, barrier coatings

• Pliotec SA65 (Omnova) is a styrene acrylic latex that provides a quick drying, early sanding film that blocks water soluble stains and prevents stain migration, while ensuring wet and dry adhesion to a variety of surfaces.

Alkyd - amphoteric

• Necowel® 4300 (ASK Chemicals) is a cationic modified alkyd emulsion with medium oil length. It offers excellent wetting and application properties. It also offers excellent stainblocking properties against water soluble substrate contaminations like nicotine, tobacco condensate, markers, and wood ingredients. Most of these water soluble colorants are anionic and are fixed at the cationic counterpart in the resin. Compared to alternative cationic emulsions NECOWEL™ 4300 offers a neutral pH-value. This leads to good compatibility with additives and different kind of pigments and fillers. 

• Necowel® 4400 (ASK Chemicals) is a modified alkyd emulsion based on saturated fatty acids. It offers excellent stain blocking properties against water soluble substrate contaminations like nicotine, tobacco condensate, markers, and wood ingredients. Most of these water soluble colorants are anionic and are fixed at the cationic counterpart in the resin. NECOWEL™ 4400 offers excellent wetting and application properties. It is based on saturated acids and therefore offers non-yellowing properties and is free of smell and odor. Compared to alternative cationic emulsions to this product offers a neutral pH-value. This leads to good compatibility with additives and different kind of pigments and fillers. An alkaline pH-value should be avoided to prevent forming of ammonia salts of the contamination with higher water solubility.

Epoxy

• Duroxyn® 2410W/40WA (Allnex) is an aqueous, cationic epoxy-resin-ester. It was developed for the production of 1-component primers, with quick drying and high film hardness. 

• Duroxyn® EF 2107W/45WA (Allnex) is an aqueous, cationic epoxy-resin ester developed for the production of 1-comp.-primers, with quick drying and high film hardness. 

• Duroxyn® EF 2406w/40WA (Allnex) is an aqueous, cationic epoxy-resin-ester. It was developed for the production of 1-comp.-primers, with quick drying and high film hardness. 

• Duroxyn® VEF 2406W/45gWA (Allnex) is an aqueous, cationic epoxy-resin-ester developed for the production of 1-comp. -primers, with quick drying and high film hardness.

Polyurethanes

• Bayhydrol UV 2792 XP (Covestro) is a cationic PU emulsion for with excellent wood accentuation, good tannin blocking and adhesion, especially suitable as a primer for wood.

• Esacote® CN 24 (Lamberti) is an opalescent liquid, waterborne polyether based cationic aliphatic polyurethane dispersion, that forms a soft, elastic, and slightly sticky film. This product is solvent and formaldehyde free and therefore is characterized by a low environmental impact. 

• Esacote® MD 15 (Lamberti) is an opalescent liquid, waterborne cationic polyurethane dispersion, that forms an elastic film for the metal and the wood coatings. This product is solvent and formaldehyde free and therefore is characterized by a low environmental impact. 

• Esacote® MD 23 (Lamberti) is a waterborne dispersion of a cationic modified polymer, which can be used for the stain and tannin blocking primers application. This product is solvent and formaldehyde free and therefore is characterized by a low environmental impact. 

• PUD-1618 (SiwoChem) is an aqueous, aliphatic polyurethane dispersion based on polyether

• PUD-1619 (SiwoChem) is an aqueous, aliphatic polyurethane dispersion based on polyether

• Witcobond® W-213 (Chemtura) is a small particle size polyether based aliphatic isocyanate cationic polyurethane dispersion. Used for paper & plastic coating applications.

• Witcobond® W-214 (Chemtura) is an aqueous polyurethane dispersion with no free isocyanate
