NeoCryl® XK-30 is an acrylic emulsion designed for isolating primers (stain locking).

Product characteristics

  • Type - Acrylic copolymer emulsion

Film properties
  • Good stain locking primer for nicotine, markers and stains
  • Good stain locking on tropical woods
  • Water resoluble wood ingredients will be locked
  • No specific active pigments necessary like zinc oxide etc. for stain locking performance
  • Can be blended with WB alkyds to improve adhesion on wood 
Recommendation for end-use
  • Walls and ceilings
  • Clear and pigmented primers
  • Suitable for interior and exterior 
Formulating guidelines
  • Texanol (Eastman Chemical) is preferred as co solvent
  • For optimal performance keep end pH of formulation < 6
  • Use non-ionic additives
  • Commercially available pigment pastes are usually anionic stabilized (be aware of destabilization)
  • Defoamers and PU thickeners broad compatibility
  • Rinse all pipelines/hoses thoroughly to prevent coagulation/ contamination with other products (different stabilisation system)
